01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Some diners come to nenecolo for the carbonara. Made with house-made pancetta, it is available with a choice of pasta portions: 70g or 100g. Diners who have tried it have praised its creaminess and a flavour that reminded them of pasta they had eaten in Rome. Choose 100g for a more substantial meal, or 70g if you plan to order antipasti and a main as well.

For a little variety to start, consider the day's 3- or 5-item antipasti assortment. There are also individual starters, including mussels steamed in white wine, burrata caprese and ciambotta, vegetables steamed in white wine. One diner who ordered the mussels enjoyed their plump texture. The wine list is extensive, and some diners have appreciated being helped to choose a bottle to go with their food—making it a pleasant place to linger over a glass and a few starters.

Pasta options include arrabbiata in a spicy tomato sauce, amatriciana with house-made pancetta and cavatelli with a seafood sauce. For dessert, one diner described the tiramisu as gently sweet, and enjoyed the substantial bite of its bittersweet sponge.

The restaurant is small, with counter seating at its centre, and is suited to solo dining. Dinner reservations are available and recommended.
